smoxy is a powerful tool for optimizing online stores that delivers fast load times and a better user experience. It provides automated image optimization and server-side HTML caching to make websites more efficient without compromising image quality. Why is the caching in my store system not enough?
Compared to standard caches, smoxy is considerably faster because it is far less complex. Its smart rules also let you define much more precisely what should actually be cached.
Is using smoxy GDPR-compliant?
smoxy runs in Germany on our own hardware. All data is processed in line with the GDPR. You will find more details in our privacy policy.
Why does performance matter so much for my online store?
Fast load times not only have a direct effect on how long your customers stay in your online store, and thus indirectly on your conversions and your revenue. It is also about customer satisfaction and the recommendation rate, which keeps dropping the longer a page takes to load. Performance also matters when you want to optimize your online store for SEO, because Google penalizes every extra second your store needs. That means poor Core Web Vitals — and worse visibility.
What happens if I exceed the traffic included in my package?
We let you know by email in good time once 80% of your included traffic is used up. You can then decide for yourself whether to switch smoxy off for the rest of the month or have the additional traffic billed separately.
Can sub-stores be included in a package?
Yes, you can manage any number of sub-stores from a single account.
Can smoxy be used with any store system?
The only requirement for using smoxy is access to the DNS configuration at your hosting provider. If that is in place, smoxy can be used with any store system.
Contract and payment
How is smoxy billed?
Depending on the package, smoxy is billed either monthly or yearly.
Can I try smoxy first?
Yes, you can try smoxy free of charge and with no obligation for 30 days.
Which payment methods are available?
Payment is by invoice.
Which packages are available?
There are the Core, Expand and Max packages. They differ only in the amount of traffic included. The smoxy modules image optimization, HTML caching and security can be added to all three packages.
What are the contract terms and notice periods?
You can choose between a monthly and a yearly term. For a yearly contract the notice period is 3 months before the end of the term; for a monthly contract, notice has to be given no later than 1 week before the end of the term. Without timely notice, the contract renews automatically for the term originally agreed (1 month for monthly contracts, 12 months for yearly contracts).
Can I sign a data processing agreement with smoxy?
Yes, a data processing agreement can be signed electronically after registration.
Do I need a separate account for every sub-store?
A single account can run both different country stores (www.yourstore.de, www.yourstore.at, and so on) and different sub-stores (range1.yourstore.de, range2.yourstore.de). Billing then covers the entire traffic in that account.
Setting up the platform
Is smoxy compatible with my store system?
smoxy works with almost every common e-commerce store system, among them Shopware, Magento, Spryker and many more. If you are unsure, just get in touch and we will give you all the information you need.
Can I choose the compression level for the images myself?
Yes, you can choose the compression level for the different formats in the backend. At https://compare.smoxy.eu/ you can also see how images look at each compression level.
How easy are installation and configuration?
smoxy's automated image optimization is a plug'n'play solution. So you can put all the advantages of perfectly optimized images to work in your store right away.
For server-side HTML caching, a few settings have to be changed depending on your store system. Even so, HTML caching is implemented with minimal effort and ready to go with the default settings. To use smoxy exactly the way you want, you decide which rules you need - without a single line of code. Use the simple, intuitive smoxy UI and click together the cache of your dreams, exactly as you need it.
How is smoxy operated?
smoxy is a SaaS (software-as-a-service) solution. You get access to your project, where you are free to work within the scope of your subscription, while we are responsible for running and maintaining the software. smoxy runs in Germany on our own hardware.
Where does smoxy sit in my system architecture?
smoxy sits between your store system and your customers. When a visitor lands on one of your pages, the request goes to smoxy, where it is checked whether a cached version can already be delivered.
What does smoxy promise in terms of service?
